Poverty is among the factors for children from low-income families to be at higher risk of dropping out of school and eventually absorbed into the workforce. We aim to solve this problem through our ‘Feed to Educate’ program.
Our program is unique in such a way that we ensure the families who receive our monthly food aid will not rely on their children for supplemental income so they may continue to go to school and focus on their studies.
In January 2019, we received a letter from Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Perlis acknowledging the effectiveness of our method. Teachers from Sekolah Kebangsaan Simpang Ampat, one of the school we are supporting, noticed a significant improvement in the classroom attendance of students who received our food aid. In turn, this translates into better academic achievement.
As to date, we have three schools, orphanages, and refugee centers that are under our care. We are committed to making sure that the children who attend these school and their families may continue to receive continuous food aid for the rest of the year.
