It’s estimated that eastern Sudan is home to over 100,000 Eritrean refugees, and has been since the 1960s due to the war for Eritrean independence, open-ended military service, and human rights violations. Testimonials

In rural areas, sometimes, the children do not eat (on a regular basis). In one of our visits to a student’s house, they did not even have a single grain of rice. When the family received the food assistance from Charity Right Malaysia, they couldn’t express in words the gratitude they felt towards us, and especially towards Charity Right Malaysia. We as teachers were unable to assist these students with large funds, but with the assistance of Charity Right Malaysia, many of our families are now supported and we see a significant change in the students, they are more positive to continue learning.

With no other men in our household, the burden of responsibility fell upon my old, blind father. There are 21 of us living in two huts. We share five single beds among us. For generations, we’ve been stuck in the poverty cycle. Some days we can afford food, and other days we can’t. There were times we ate nothing. That’s why the food packs that CR gives us every month means so much to us.
