#TGIF: Thank God It’s Food!
In collaboration with Cheritera Cafe, our Thank God, It’s Food! (TGIF) project has kicked off!
What is #TGIF?
Hidden hunger exists within our community and there are many urban poor and homeless people in the Klang Valley areas of Malaysia who cannot afford food on a daily basis. Plus, nutritious meal is a privilege for some, especially during this pandemic.
Hence, in collaboration with Cheritera Cafe, our “Thank God, It’s Food!” Project (or #TGIF) was born and it kicked off early January this year!
Every Friday, 150-200 packs of hot meals will be provided to underprivileged communities, to feed the forgotten and underserved individuals, such as the homeless, the orphans and the urban poor.
Check out our work!

Rumah Aman Children’s Home, January 22 2021: Alhamdulillah, for this time, 30 pack of comforting hot meals have been delivered to children at Rumah Aman Children’s Home in Sungai Buloh. So happy to see the smile on their face enjoying the delicious meal.
KL City Area, February 5 2021: Alhamdulillah, for our 3rd hot meal distribution, 170 pack of comforting hot meals have been distributed to the homeless in KL City Area. We were glad to see the smile on their face enjoying the delicious meal and it has been an eye-opening experience for us even though we only spend a short period of time with them.
KL City Area, February 19 2021: Alhamdulillah, for our 4th hot meal distribution, 200 packs of hot meals have been distributed to the homeless in the Pasar Seni area. It’s heartwarming to see their face enjoying the delicious meal and as we were chatting with them, we found out that most of them had to live on the streets as they lost their job due to MCO and could not afford to pay for rental and food to survive in KL.
KL City Area, February 19 2021: After being advised by the police to change the distribution location multiple times due to safety reasons, Alhamdulillah we were able to deliver all the hot meals to the homeless in the Pasar Seni area. This time around, most beneficiaries that we met were the elderly, children and pregnant mothers. It’s truly heart-breaking to see this and we wish we could do more to help them.
We were joined by our volunteers as the MCO has been lifted and we are truly grateful for their help. A special shout-out to Anna, who fundraised for our TGIF’s project and volunteered to distribute the meals as well, thank you, Anna!
Our heartfelt thank you to all the donors and Cheritera Cafe for putting a smile on their faces by supporting our cause.
